Know before you blow!
I love this system. If it gives you a hard time, you might wanna hire someone to hang these for you or you’ll end up with half your sheetrock ripped off the wall and a mess to clean up. This systembis handy, but like ithers have said, they have gotten more flimsy over the years. What happened to American quality? Oh yeah, outsourcing.

Good rails but be sure four will meet all your needs
Excellent rails at a good price. They’re a grey metal that works well with Ikea, Rubbermaid or most other brackets that fit into two side-by-side holes. If you do buy rails, be sure to check how far the different rails stand out from the wall. These are comparable to Ikea rails and stand out over 3/4″. I had some others that didn’t come out as far and so while the hole spacing was the same, the different depth became a problem. It’s best to stick with one brand of rails if possible.Two complaints:1. You can only buy four at a time. I needed nine rails, so I had to order four, wait for delivery, order four more, and so on. It doesn’t make much sense that they don’t want to sell me enough for my whole project.2. Each rail came in a separate 6′ box that was actually large enough to hold all four. Seriously. I’ll bet cardboard manufacturers love these guys!

1. Took four days longer than promised to arrive. Made planning the installation problematic, at best.2. NOT Grey as advertised. Actually Brown.From the product description:- Mounts directly to FastTrack Garage rail the units are Grey —- It is brown and MAY be FastTrack, but was advertised as Configurations.- Powder-coated steel resists rusting, chipping, and cracking– remains to be seen- Can be mounted directly to a wall (installation hardware included)– NO hardware included, at all- Brackets and shelving sold separately– duh!- Not compatible with previous designs of FastTrack Garage uprights and extensions– as is supposed to be Configurations compatible, who knows?

Bent, seller picture not accurate, wasteful shipping
I bought two of these, and one arrived slightly bent on the end. The seller’s picture makes it look like it will be a nickel or stainless steel type finish. What arrived was painted with a glossy medium gray. To their credit, it said “grey,” but I assumed that was a poor description of what was pictured. This finish will work for my purpose, but I thought I’d add the warning. These were both purchased as part of the same order, but they shipped separately. These brackets that are <1”x<1”x70” in size were shipped individually in 6”x10”x72” boxes and wrapped in a thin layer of packing paper. I get the issue of a limited number of box sizes available, but a large amount of the waste (and one of them arriving 2 days late) could have been avoided by shipping them together.In the end, they’re still going to do the job I have for them, despite the frustration, which is why I’m giving 2 stars.

If you read further in the description, you will notice that although the title says “Configurations” it is actually FASTRACK. I needed another upright to extend my configurations closet and this is the only one available to purchase separately. I finally ordered a full 3 – 6 foot closet just to get the extra upright. I will use the leftovers in another space. Boo!
