Nice rails – could do without the overly conspicuous branding though
These rails are substantial, offer a decent finish, and are fairly straight forward to modify for varying applications. While taking it out of the box I was impressed with the heft of it. It’s overbuilt for what the vast majority of folks would try to do with it (never underestimate a smooth brain). The plastic trim/cover is easy enough to install and hides the rail well without compromising the load bearing capacity.I found 2 sizes readily available. Maybe there are more out there that I just didn’t see? What I wound up doing to make a more exact fit for my install was to break out the angle grinder and the bench vise. I had no problem tacking several pieces together to do exactly what needed done.

Excellent solution
I wish I had switched to this years ago. It is so simple to install and the attachments are so easy to attach.

Works great, very sturdy
Currently using this to store a bunch of garden tools and some outdoor power tools. It has held up great and I love how customizable it can be. It’s holding up at least 30-40lbs without any issues in the past several months.

Easy to install if you pay attention to the details
I chose the Rubbermaid Fast Track system after looking at several other incomplete displays of competing track systems at a local big box store. The Rubbermaid system looked to be the sturdiest, as well as the most complete, and of course Rubbermaid is a brand that you can trust to be around in a year when youâre looking to expand your rack. Itâs easy to install, too, IF you pay attention to the small details.Detail #1: The metal track and the plastic cover are NOT symmetrical! Look closely before you slide the cover off the track. The upper flange of the metal track is slightly longer than the lower flange, and if you mount it upside down, itâll be extremely difficult to get the cover on. Make sure that longer edge is mounted UP.Detail #2: The plastic cover MUST be mounted right side up, or youâll never get it on. The upper edge wraps around the metal track, but the bottom edge is shorter, so it can snap over the rail. Happily there’s a Rubbermaid logo printed on the cover to help you get this right.Detail #3: The holes in the rail may not line up with the studs in your garage. I found it necessary to screw some short lengths of 2×4 alongside three of the existing studs in order to provide secure anchors at every stud. (See photo)Detail #4: Do NOT buy the Rubbermaid mounting kit. The screws provided are garbage. Instead, buy a box of deck screws. To do the job right youâll need a drill/driver or (preferably) an impact driver. Donât try to attach the screws by hand. You should also drill 1/8th inch pilot holes, even for âself drillingâ screws, especially if your house was built before WWII. Older garages were built with wood thatâs a lot harder than the typical SPF framing lumber used today.Youâll also need a level to do the job right. Figure out what height you want to install the rail and make a mark there. Rubbermaid recommends 4â or 7â3â, but I installed mine at 6â after experimenting with the tools I planned on hanging. Install the rack with one screw, check the level, and install the next. Check level again, and if everything looks good, install the rest of the screws. If you put the rail in correctly, the cover will easily snap on. Hook the top edge and give the lower edge a sharp rap with the heel of your palm or a rubber mallet.

You will love your garage again
I could not be happier that I got these. The only reason that I put 4 stars instead of 5 is that these are difficult to install without the help of another person. I went ahead and found the stud where I wanted to start the rail. I drilled my first hole and hung the rail, loosely on that first screw. That gave me another set of hands in a way. I was able to level the rail, while holding it in the middle and it being supported by the first screw. Once I had my line drawn, I could go down the rail marking the holes. I would suggest just marking every hole and then going back to figure out which ones are in studs and where you need to drill your holes. I didn’t do that on the first one, but I did on the second and it was much easier than trying to make the holes match where I found the studs.Once I got everything marked, got my mollys in the right place and drilled my starter holes in the studs, then I put the screw in the last hole to hold the entire rail up while I finished. It took me awhile to get it up, but it is sturdy and holding hundreds of pounds of stuff without so much as a little pulling from the wall.Made may garage so much better and everything is easy to access and organized. I can’t believe I didn’t do this 3 years ago when we bought this house!!

Organization Must Have Item
Love these for organization. The variety of hooks allows for many tool/items to be hung. Have these in my garage and it has made it much more neat and organized.

Fancy, pricey, easy and aesthetically pleasing
Sure a 2×4 and some cheap hooks are more economical, but these Rubbermaid fast track systems are really nice. They’re very simple, to set up and change around. The attachments can get pricey. You can usually find the tracks on sale for $12 and wait for attachments to go on sale(usually $10-$15 per attachment). I love the variety of attachments.

Amazing system, I have purchased 2 x 84 inches and were delivered when expected, as expected.Pros:- The hooks slides flawlessly on the railing as expected.- The rails looks good and are made of durableCons:- The tracks do not come with any hardware (sold separately) so I had to use my own wall anchors- The rails will follow the curve of the wall making it a bit harder to put the black plastic cover- I was not able to put the railing flush side by side so I cannot slide from one railing to the other (could be a problem from my installation methods and not necessarily from the product)Please note that considering the length of the railing, it would be recommended to be 2 person for the installation

I ordered the system rail, one ladder hook and one utility hook on 8/18/2023, and recieved them on 8/22/2023- that’s one buisness day only. I already had one new utility hook and one (2-handle hook). The rail is a heavy steel full of installation openings. This 4 feet rail can span over 3 studs only, that’s mean you need 6 screws to fix to the wall-use fuly threaded screws of at least 2.25-2.5 inches long; two on each stud. Apply the black plastic cover; then apply the hooks to the rail within few seconds. My preference was not to use the ladder hook to hang my 21 feet ladder (19.4 Kgm); although each hook can tolerate 22.8 Kgm; there was a free place on the floor for the ladder. Power and hand tools were hanged beautifully as you can see.
