Game changer for someone who HATES styling hair
First, let me start off with saying I have always HATED styling my hair. Iâm not good at it and it takes WAY too long to do. Iâll spend 45 minutes on makeup (love doing my makeup), but then I get to hair and usually throw my wet mop into a tight ponytail. That âlookâ not only ends up looking unpolished, but I pull my ponytail so tight that I always breaking hairs just from the tugging several times a day.My hair is medium-long (about 3-5â past my shoulders), fine but fluffy/frizzy, and I have a lot of it. It takes me about 20-25 minutes to dry it with a normal blow drier. When Iâm done with drying, itâs normally so frizzy and crazy that I MUST flat iron, or else it looks like I just woke up. Flat ironing would take me another 20 min or so, so weâre looking at 45 min total to do my hair. Nope. I donât have the time or patience for all that, unless Iâm going out at night.And then I discovered this Hot Tools miracle.Iâve only been using this a little less than a week, but itâs changed my hair life and I am telling all my girlfriends.Itâs reduced my time from 45 minutes to 10. TEN!! Not only that, I donât have to flat iron my hair, which saves time and heat exposure to my fine hair.The end result is SO smooth. In fact, I would recommend going light on any additional smoothing serums/lotions until you can anticipate your hairâs needs with this product. Iâve used it bit too much (even just concentrating on the ends) a few times, and my hair almost seems oily. I think this product helps the product penetrate your hair more, or it simply seals the hair shaft so that you donât need as much.Regardless, in 10 minutes I have a voluminous, healthy, beautiful head of hair that matches the effort/time I put into my makeup, without actually taking long at all.This product is so (superficially) life changing that Iâve begun looking at better hair care products so that I can help grow all the broken hairline hairs into a gorgeous full set of healthy locks.Iâm probably going to buy another of these for my gym bag so that I donât have to worry about ever forgetting it.Okay, more about the device itself:- heat: when I first start using it, itâs reasonably hot, but itâs not excessive. Iâve noticed about halfway through if gets SUPER hot and I have to be careful how/where I position my hands. But …. itâs manageable and I never feel like my hair is burning.- on/off switch: the absolute only thing I struggle with is turning the device on/off/cool blast without feeling awkward. The switch is in a location where you canât really one-hand it. For me, I must stop what Iâm doing, turn the device and locate the switches, and move the switch. This means any section of hair Iâm working on must be maneuvered/pinned back first, while Iâm changing the setting on the dryer. Some of this is probably just practice / muscle memory, but itâs worth mentioning that this is the only mechanical design issue I have with the device. Also, Iâm left handed – I donât think that has anything to do with my issue, but I tend to do things a little backwards as a right-brained person.- pulling on hair: no tearing!! Iâve put some tension on this thing, and worked the hair at weird angles with awkward sectioning, and havenât experienced any discernible damage or breakage. Awesome!!- size: Thing thing takes up space! Two design elements would be great with this thing: 1) retractable cord, and 2) hook on the end so that I can hang this in my bathroom. Because this is a brush as well as a dryer, I donât want to just throw it around and risk damaging the bristles, so I currently put it in another room instead of in my bathroom drawer.Okay, thatâs my review. Hopefully it helps someone make their decision!

I honestly donât know how I lived my whole life without this. I have very thick curly hair and always hard to style. Most of the time I braid it and just call it a day. This has changed my life lol I can blow it out in 10-15 minutes. I love it. The only thing that I donât like, is that itâs sooooo loudddd my cats freak ahahah but thatâs okay a small thing to deal with for good hair. Highly recommend.

This Hot Tools brush really WORKS on long, thick, wiry, frizzy, almost 90% gray hair!
Oh wow! I have long, curly, thick, wiry, frizzy, 90% gray hair and am super awkward, clumsy, with the propensity to hurt/burn myself and…this brush WORKS! It’s very noisy on the “high” setting, so I’ve worn earplugs, but I also figured out I can let the hair air dry 50%, or rough dry with a regular blow dryer – and then do the “low” setting. It’s still plenty hot and the brush literally GRABS your hair as you twirl it around. Big chunks of hair too. I go from messy bun to sleek flipped out ends in less than 20 minutes. It’s literally like a miracle. I do use heat protectant and I wouldn’t do this every day, but twice a week is totally OK for my indestructible hair. Watched a couple of YouTube videos just to make sure I was doing it right and yep – it’s even flatter the next day. I also finish off with a little argan oil to flatten any fly aways. This Hot Tools brush changed my life, I swear. I WANT to go outside now and not hide under a hat!

This is the second brush hair dryer of this brand Iâve ordered. My last one worked great but I took it on a trip to Europe and tried to use it with a power converter and I think it damaged it. I noticed in the description for this one that it says not to use it with a power converter. I had my last one for a few years so no longer had the box and if it ever said not to use with a power converter I donât recall. On the same trip I plugged it in to the appropriate outlet on the cruise ship and I smelled a burn smell. When I returned home (in the US) the dryer just didnât seem to work right. So I looked and looked on Amazon for a new one, reading reviews and comparing prices. I decided to buy this one by Hot Tools again. I have curly hair about 4 inches past my shoulders. I used to use a blow dryer and round brush before I discovered these brush style dryers. It was life changing, lol. Much easier that holding two things and my hair drys straighter and smoother. I still use a flat iron after but a couple passes and itâs good. The only negative with this product is the noise level, but thatâs probably because it has a lot of blow. I feel like this dryer blows hotter on high than my last one and I wonder if itâs too hot. I use a heat protectant on my hair before drying.

This thing is amazing. It dries hair quickly and into the best blowout! It definitely works better for hair that’s not too long, but it will still work with longer hair too. It takes much less time than drying with a typical hair dryer and round brush.

Light your scalp on fire!!
I use this daily. It’s a wider base than I expected so it took some getting used to. Also, the highest setting will burn your scalp and hair – I only use it in the first 20 seconds of drying, and brush it through fast. Then I use the lowest setting (in the middle) You an also use the “sealing” setting (cooler air) to dry because it’s not really cool at all. Like I said, I use it daily but it will take newbies some getting used to. Use heat protectant and you should be good!
