Love it, but here’s some advice to avoid burns
UPDATE:This is a little embarrassing. I wrote a review raving about this coffeemaker and especially the color saying how much I loved it — but it’s the color that prompted me to return my kitchen to the way it was before I bought it: white (see photo). I found that the strength of the teal color distracted me even though it picked up the same color used in other places in my kitchen. So, now I’m packaging the coffeemaker to donate it to Goodwill. Why am I still giving this 5 stars? Because the coffeemaker deserves the praise I gave it just a few days ago. If your kitchen can be improved by a very strong color, go for it.Original review:I had a Keurig in this same shade of teal and loved it, but had to return it because I ended up being allergic to it (long story having to do with K cups and foil lids releasing chemicals when the hot water hits them), so I searched Amazon for a coffee maker that would bring teal back into my kitchen. The coffee maker arrived today and right away I ran two pots of water through it as directed in the instructions. After the first potful I lifted the lid and discovered that steam causes hot water to form on the underside of the lid. I got burned (no big deal,, but not something I want to happen again). The water runs down from the lid and now I know to just let it run and not reach for the filter till it has stopped.The coffee pot is very easy to use, and also lightweight. It’s almost like a toy. But it makes good coffee. I can’t use the reusable filter because I don’t have a disposal and a plumber warned me not to dump coffee grounds down the sink. I bought #2 cone filters to use instead and they work great. In fact the filter was better than the paper filters I’d been using in a Mr. Coffee machine. By that, I mean the coffee was a little less bitter (I like some bitterness from my Folger’s Colombian coffee, but reducing it a bit tastes good). The cone filter fit perfectly and was easy to remove and dump. I’m not sure what the cone filter is made of. It doesn’t feel like paper. Hard to describe so I won’t even try.Because the coffee maker is not fancy and has just an on/off button you can use it with one of Amazon’s smart plugs that lets you turn it on and off via your voice. I like that because as soon as I wake up, I tell Alexa to turn on the coffee and by the time I make it to the kitchen, the coffee is already made. I did that for years when I was using my Mr. Coffee (the model with just a on/off switch).I’ll probably buy another of these coffee makers just so I’ll have one on hand to replace the one I got today if it ever stops working. I hate it when I find something I love and then when I need a new one, I find out it’s no longer available. Ditto for the matching toaster which I also received today. I worried the colors would be slightly different because of how the photos looked online, but I worried for nothing because they’re perfect twins. The company also offers several other small appliances in the teal color.

This only makes about 5 cups per pot, and uses #2 filters. If you are judging it by the unique color, be sure the size also fits what you want. Other than that, it works pretty good, easy enough to clean, simple to use, except it has no auto-off feature, just an on-off switch. If you are prone to forgetting that you may want to reconsider. That’s the only real flaw though.

Works great. The plastic seemed flimsy, but I’ve used it for a few months and I really like it. I wanted to get away from Kuerig and now I order organic coffee beans, gring them in my coffee grinder and the coffee tastes SO much better. (No sawdust as in preground coffee like the FDA allowes ~ a, no thanks, I’d rather just have coffee!)

Holstein 5 cup coffee maker. This is a piece of crap. They should stop selling it and send it back to China how do you have to be so low to sell something that said warning this product can expose you to a chemical or group of chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harms why isn’t this included in in the product description the coffee pot is so lightweight when you lift the lid the pot moves also the court is too short I’ve only used it twice and the coffee grounds went through the filter into the coffee you think this is okay to sell to people that drink coffee the glass pot is thin and it says delicate as a fabergé egg which is easily broken for the coffee from the sprout is like a baby drooling instead of saying syrup syrup is saying cheap cheap like a bird I called to tell them how bad this product was and the first lady hung up on me this coffee pot is a shambles so I called back and got someone who did talk to me and said I had complaints about the coffee pot and that a female hung up on me when she said I was rude I would give this a grade of an f I gave one star rating because had I not it would not have gotten printed like it deserves that well this is the story of my Christmas present it it should have been in April fools I’m very upset about this Christmas gift.

This coffee pot is super cute and worked great at first but now when I brew coffee it stops dripping and then after a couple minutes it will begin to drip again. So it takes longer to brew now

This item comes with a plug not used in the UK. Although it said an adapter can be used it states in the instructions that this item can blow the electrics and an electrician may be needed. I wasn’t taking the risk!The seller said to return would be my responsibility and very expensive, it would be going to America. When Amazon intervened the message I got from the seller was to take it to an address in America! Did they want me to jump on a plane!! We then got a message to return it by post, we were just going around in circles. Thanks to Amazon A-Z guarantee I have been reimbursed through them, but the actual seller was no help at all. They didn’t get it that their product isn’t fit for purpose in the UK.
