Tasty and earthy
I love trying new beverages, and this was my first time sampling a product from this Japanese company and this type of drink. The powder had a matcha-like scent. The instructions on the package were in cartoons and Japanese, so I needed to use Google Translate to understand them.Instead of 100 ml of milk, I used approximately 200 ml, and it mixed easily. The instructions advised against using hot water or heating it to a high temperature. Since my milk was cold, I microwaved it for 40 seconds. The beverage tasted good, and unlike matcha, it lacked a bitter flavor. I really enjoyed it!

Good source of barley grass for mineral and fiber supplement
This product contains only single bag, not as shown two bags in the picture. The product is imported from Japan and so English labels are on the bag for the content detailsThe barley grass is fine powder and easy to dissolve or mixed with water. It tastes a bit sweet and earthly, but it is acceptable to me. But I’d like to add the barley grass powder to green smoothie to mix with other green leaves or vegetables for health benefits.

Cheaper than a cup of coffee, this barley grass mixes well with water and tastes mild, a little grassy is all but easy on the stomach. The listing makes it seem as if it contains added ingredients, but no it’s pure barley grass, which I like. The health benefits of barley grass is well known, this is an easy way to get those benefits. The packaging is mostly in Japanese language, while the ingredients and nutritional information is in English language.NOTE: Despite the listing seeming to say it has added ingredients, no, it’s pure barley grass, which I like.

Nutritional information is suspect
The barley grass powder comes packaged in the form of sachets inside a bigger package. There are 7 sachets in the package and the total weight of barley grass powder you get is 21 grams (about 3 grams of powder per sachet). The recommended dose is either 1 or 2 sachets, so you get a 7-day supply in this package. You can add the contents of the sachet to your water or shakes, etc., to consume it. There is nothing but young barley grass in the powder, no additives, no preservatives, etc.But, this is not packed with any vitamins or minerals either – you get 93% of your daily recommended dose of vitamin K, but you get less than 10% (and in most cases, closer to 1%) of most other nutrients like calcium, potassium, iron and vitamins.The only problem with the product is that the nutrition information is not clear and correct. For example, it claims that there are 144 grams of carbohydrates in each dose. Since the sachet is only 3 grams in weight, this makes no sense. Same with the claim that you get 12 grams of dietary fiber.

I’m giving a three-star rating because I’m not exactly sure on which side that should be on due to several factors and although for me I would give it 1 star, but everybody’s circumstances are different and I’m not sure if I am correct in my hesitation of the product, therefore I am giving the 3 star rating.Another issue that I take into consideration is packaging! I have nothing against Chinese, Japanese or any other countries products, manufacturing and or coming from the country but what is not acceptable to me is when a product arrives and I find no information or instructions in my language on the package. This product in particular has all Japanese writing with a sticker on the back which has the information of ingredients percentage wise and all that. I decided to remove the sticker so I could compare what was on the original package and I was having a hard time matching numbers up just by looking at them. So I had Google translate the information on the package so I could then compare it to the information that is provided in English but and it does line up with the similar ingredients but there are a lot more listings in the Japanese list as opposed to the English list.I don’t understand why it would be so much different as far as the listings go or if it is just a separation of the same items. It also mentions that there is lead in the product or can be. It is a digestive aid and it is recommended that you check with your physician if you have any medical conditions or on medications that this product could interfere with.There are seven pouches in the package and a serving of this product is one to two pouches a day. I do have several different medical conditions and take different medicines and based on the information that I found so far I decided that it would be best if I did not use this product. I did however give it to my son who does not yet have any medical conditions but has occasional gut issues and is not on medication. I figured it would be less likely to be any issue for him.

Mixes well, excellent quality
I’ve been mixing one packet in my blender each morning, along with half a cucumber, half a banana, a shot of lemon juice, and about 12 ounces of cold water. The result is refreshing, slightly “green” tasting, and simultaneously refreshing and a tiny bit sweet.The quality of the powder is excellent, there has been no clumping and only a trace amount of powder on the sides of my blender. It’s organic and grown at the base of mountains in Japan – Yama = mountain, and Kan = base.The reason for 4* and not 5 is solely based on value, as these are currently priced at over $1.40+ per packet, which is a bit pricey when considering other green products on the market. Nonetheless the packets are super convenient.

Nice smooth barley grass powder.
Gotten quite fond of Yamakan products over the years.Quite familiar with their mulberry leaf powder, which is yet another green powder.This barley grass powder has the same fine and smooth consistency and blends very easily in hot water.The experience of drinking all of them is not unlike drinking matcha, and I mix them all using my matcha tea set.Quite happy with this, and my gut is happy too.
