very useful with all necessary features
I always read before going to sleep, which until now has meant a light of some sort which keeps my wife from getting to sleep. I don’t own a tablet and I don’t like reading on a phone. Too small of a screen for my taste, and it’s still too bright for her (light sleeper). My old Kindle had no backlight. It was so old it would no longer even download new books, so I had at least a dozen I couldn’t even access. So, time for an upgrade. This has met all my needs.- Screen is lit but adjustable brightness- warm light option- darkmode to further reduce what little glare might exist and helps aged eyes see better- navigates by touchscreen instead of buttons that can wear out- contrary to prior reviews, you can categorize titles into lists for easier locating- bluetooth capability for listening if desiredLots of battery life, super fast set up that’s only a few basic clicks. Get a decent case and it’s a simple, straightforward means of accessing as many titles as you wish when and wherever. The refurbished model saved a few bucks and was as good as new for me. Very happy with this purchase.

    Nice kindle!
This is my third kindle and it works great. I like the options for warmth and brightness. It hold a great charge. I can use it for weeks without needing a recharge. Also didn’t use it for a month and it was still at 98% charge. Great little reader. It’s a bit slippery. So consider getting a cover for it to have something to hold and protect the screen. I bought the matching kindle branded cover and it looks great.

Works Great, Looks Brand New, Excited To Use This!
This is the first Kindle I’ve ever owned so I can’t say much about it other than I am extremely happy with my purchase! This refurbished Kindle looks like a brand new one. It was very easy to set up and get started with downloading ebooks.I love how there is a brightness adjuster, warmth adjuster, and a dark mode which is something I’m probably going to use all the time.Navigating through the menus was pretty easy to figure out and swiping the pages back and forth work great too.I haven’t read a book on this yet but I definitely will soon.It feels really light in my hands too. I feel like this is a great device to own if you want to either start getting into reading like I am or if you are already a reader. This model has amazing battery life from what I can see. I hope this thing lasts me a while.

    Works great
5 stars but i got stuck on a screen when it said I had to update my payment information in Amazon. Had to restart the thing to move forward. Could be designed better. Plus it is slow to turn on.

    My new favorite thing
I love reading and love physical books but as I’m an over the road truck driver now keeping multiple books with me just isn’t convenient for space or for keeping my books from getting damaged. My sister in law has a Kindle she loves so I decided to get one so I could use Libby with it.I have only had it one day and I am so happy with my purchase. It is so easy to read, feels much better on my eyes & is very adjustable to font size preferences, lighting, etc.It was extremely easy to set up with the option of using the WiFi on the kindle or setting up through my phone.I think mine is a little bigger than my SIL’s but will still fit very nicely into every bag I have.It is very lightweight and easy to hold. I got a clear case for it because I think the mint color is pretty. So far even refurbished it works exactly how I’d assume it would from new.

More awkward to hold than the basic, but worth it for the warm light
This is my first Kindle, and I tried both the Kindle basic and the Paperwhite (11th gen.) to replace an old iPad. I spent a lot of time trying to choose between the two.I found the Kindle basic to be better in most ways. More than anything else, it’s easier to hold because of its smaller dimensions, lighter weight, and raised edges. It does better with a glare, and the screen doesn’t show fingerprints as much as the PW does. The text looks clearer, and it’s less prone to accidentally turning pages. The battery seems to last longer too.The Paperwhite’s dimensions and weight, along with the flat screen, make it more awkward to hold than the basic, espeically if you have small hands. It shows fingerprints and smudges more easily, does slightly worse in the sun, and uses more battery (though the battery life is still great). However, the PW has one major advantage: the warm light. I do most of my reading at night in the dark, and I was used to warm light from years of reading on an iPad. I couldn’t get used to reading on the basic on low light or night mode without warm light. Because of this I decided to keep the PW. My case (from Beesocks on Etsy) and Strapsicle help make it more comfortable to hold.If warm light isn’t important to you, the basic is the better option, especially if you have small hands. If you read a lot at night and/or are sensitive to blue light, you may prefer the PW.Photo 1: Holding PWPhoto 2: Holding basicPhoto 3: Holding basic with cover (from Beesock)

    Buy this!
This is the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. The size is perfect- I can easily fit in my purse. I’ve had it over a year now and have not had any problems with any of the buttons or touchscreen. I LOVE that it has a dictionary to use while reading. I just tap and hold on a word and can look at the definition of a word instead of flipping to my phone for Google so I can understand a word. I use this every single day!! Make sure to buy a quality case/cover otherwise it will get little dents on the corners if you drop it. Have not used the audiobook option yet but will update my review if I try in the future! I also LOVE that this is a used product. It arrived looking basically brand new.

    Looks like new.
Works great. Battery lasts for a week. Light is bright enough. Cost way down from a new one. Only time will tell if it was worth the low price to compromise on a refurb kindle.
