Find the proper fine to get the maximum foam from the coffee machine.
The product is perfect. You must figure out how fine the coffee must be to get the nice foam. This is going to take some time. This is the 6th espresso coffee machine I have bought from Delonghi, and I have always been satisfied. They make great products.Though I must admit something regarding the product. The product name at the front where it says “Delonghi”, came inverted 180 degrees (the photo is attached). I can not understand how the QA/QC of a manufacturer like Delonghi allowed this product to be sent out to the consumers. I should have returned the product, but since everything else was working properly, I kept it. I am expecting a gift from Delonghi for the mistake they have made.

Great coffee once you find the right beans
Took a few failures to get the quantity and grind right for this one, but once I did it’s great.Dislikes: no feet or sticky pads to secure to counter top, small lightweight machine – it moves with every touch. Steam wand will leak excess water every cup, make sure its over the tray…

    Piece of crap!
If I could give it zero stars, I would. The first one I was sent is acting just like the second one. You would expect this machine to turn on, the first try. This morning at 6am, it took 6 tries just to turn it on.Loading the coffee is quirky. If you can get it to work, the coffee is good and hot. But you just about loose it before you can take your first sip. I would not recommend this machine at all! Piece of garbage that I can’t return. I was out of town during the return time.

    Barista experience at home
De’Longhi EC900M – A Beautiful and Capable Home Espresso MachineI purchased the De’Longhi EC900M on Amazon, and it has exceeded my expectations. Its minimalist and elegant design blends seamlessly into any kitchen, making it as stylish as it is functional. This machine truly brings the barista experience home, offering very good espresso extraction with rich flavors and a nice crema. It’s also easy to use and maintain, making it a great choice for both beginners and intermediate users looking to improve their coffee-making skills. The steam wand, while a bit tricky at first, produces a good microfoam texture—perfect for latte art once you get the hang of it. It does take a little longer than some higher-end machines, but the results are worth it.Overall, the EC900M is a fantastic entry-level option with enough features to satisfy those wanting to refine their espresso-making technique. Highly recommended!

    Machine Descales Too Often
The machine works great except that the Descaler light has been coming on every 8 to 13 days since we bought the machine a few months ago. Descaling the machine takes an hour, which is much longer than our previous Breville machines. De’Longhi says the water impacts the descaling process but we use Primo filtered water. They said this may not have enough minerals. I’m currently dealing with De’Longhi customer service and regret buying this machine.

    great item great coffee
great item great coffee, easy to use, durable quality. worth spending the $$ for delonghi vs. cheaper brands that did not work

  8. Meets my expectations. Works well, you fill like a real barista. Easy to install.

    Enough coffeamaker to intermediate barista
If you area an enthusiastic barista to intermediate this coffe maker satisfy the main requirements. Offer an authentic experience about portafilters, filters, tamper and so on. Follow the instructions of the first cycle and everything will well.

Our first generation Dedica finally got too old to maintain, so we sprung for this newer version and are so happy that we did! Interface change was smooth, despite different button order. Machine is a little wider than the old one, but only by a little. If your kitchen layout is a tight fit, though, something to be aware of.Love that this has a low water alert. Old one did not and we had a few near misses over the years at disaster. I’ll miss the gorgeous red colour of the old one. My only real wish for this one, though the brushed silver looks lovely, would be that it came in red like prior iterations.Finessing the temp and flow are much easier now. All-around an improvement on the prior version. Makes a fine shot pretty much right out of the box, not much adjusting needed. Looking forward to many years with this one, like we had with the old one!

This item arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was packaged in a simple cardboard box.I have reviewed the Specialista Opera and the Magnifica machines from this brand, and this may very well be my favourite. I have been using this machine for just over a month now.-This machine is remarkably easy to use and offers a great entry point into home espresso machines without being overwhelming or daunting.-The product description videos and instructions were accurate and easy to understand. I also watched an unboxing video and some user reviews to give me a better idea what to expect but they were unnecessary as set up is simple and you can be brewing quickly upon unboxing.-This is the smallest and most compact of the three machines I have reviewed — I am actually happy to leave this on my kitchen counter whereas the other two models simply take up too much kitchen real estate. If you prefer to put this machine away between uses, it is the easiest machine in terms of lugging around and storing.-The drip tray catches any spills or runoff. Clean up is also straightforward because the components (such as the nozzle and milk frother) detach easily and can easily be wiped down or safely used in the dishwasher.-Water tank is certainly smaller but I find this easier to handle when filled.-This is great to prepare one or two small drinks at a time rather than a large batch all at once, however the process is quite quick so even if you are entertaining a larger group of people, preparation is rather quick and does allow you to prepare as much or as little as you necessary.-The interface is simple and I love that all the buttons match the machine and provide a sleek, classy look.-Most importantly, this creates great tasting drinks, even compared to the larger models.Overall, this is an easy to use machine that simplifies the coffee and espresso making process and produces great tasting beverages. A wonderful addition to your morning routine and the fact that it takes up limited kitchen real estate is such a win. Recommended!

This is a fairly decent budget friendly manual espresso machine for beginners (and perhaps enthusiasts alike) from De’Longhi that requires no introduction; it’s well-known brand that offers decent balance amongst performance, quality, and affordability for consumers although quality seem to be its weakest point in my mind and I’ll just leave it at that. The overall build quality is decent and typical of most of these budget friendly models from De’Longhi. It’s mostly made of stainless steel although I wish the bottom/base is made of stainless steel as because the plastic does seem a bit flimsy to my eyes in comparison to the rest of the machine. Not a show stopper by any means, but you know, don’t’ cheap out on the little stuff is all I’m saying. It’s rated at 1450W with a max of 15 bar of pressure (pre-infusion) and 9 bar of pressure for extraction, which is decent. It’s very easy to use as most of these beginners’ models often are and it generally works as expected without issues with decent overall performance. It’s reasonably small and compact in comparison to many others but it does hold 1.6L of water which (again) is pretty good given the circumstance. Cleaning is equally straightforward and it’s minimal for the most part, which I do appreciate. For those who are new to this; it offers 3 levels of temperature (high/med/low) along with 3 modes of delivery (i.e. single/double espresso or coffee), and basically that’s all you need if you don’t care about the steam milk. It also comes with a removable water tank that holds 1.6L along with the usual accessories such as tamper, 4x filter baskets (2x pressurized and 2x unpressurized), plastic measuring spoon, cleaning brush, and a tray extender for small cups etc; nothing fancy here really. After it’s properly rinsed via repeated extraction cycles (espresso mode, 5x times as indicated in the manual) along with hot water being delivered via the steam wand at least once, you’re ready to go. Again, for those who are new to this, espresso requires finer grinds than ordinary coffee and you will wanna make sure that the grounds in the portafilter has an evenly flat surface with the help of the tamper.Make sure you don’t overdo it (marked a notch) or else you might not be able to properly lock the portafilter in place. Once that’s done, you’ll just need to select the temperature and delivery mode. Btw, it’s recommended to use min temp for dark roast and high temp for light roast, but experiment away as you wish. The extraction process is fairly quick and it takes about 9 seconds from start to the last drop (well, more or less; however, consistency seems to be an issue for this particular model, see below). As for the steam milk, it’s reasonably easy to work with as well although I do find the steam wand has rather limited angle toward the front so that’s a bit of a bummer. It can tilt outward noticeably more at the side (towards the rear). First you’d turn it on by pressing the STEAM button (top right) and wait until it stop flashing (approx. 12 seconds to heat it up), then put the milk under the spout so that the tip is just below the surface. Next, turn the knob (on/off only) to the on position to start steaming the milk. When it’s done (i.e. too hot to touch), turn it off by pressing the STEAM button again, then turn the knob to the off position. Easy as that. Make sure you clean the spout with a damp cloth after each use to minimize unwanted build up that might be difficult to remove afterwards. Btw, the volume of the steamed milk expands by a factor or 2-3, so just keep that in mind.So how does it perform? Well, it’s fairly decent and for the most part as expected given what I’ve seen so far. It’s an entry level espresso machine that does the job reasonably well although I do find that it’s not as consistent as I wanted it to be with respect to quality of the extraction process although it’s perhaps somewhat expected due to the type of heating system used (i.e. thermoblock vs. boiler). It’s cheaper to implement but at the expense of sacrificing consistency.≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a fairly decent entry level manual espresso machine for beginners that’s reasonably well-built and for the most part works expected without issues. It offers a decent balance amongst performance, quality, and affordability although I do wish it has better build quality as a whole based on the price tag. It’s easy to use and versatile in what it delivers, which I do appreciate and indeed that’s one of the primary reasons for the order. It’s reasonably priced at $350 for what it provides and its overall build quality, features, usability, versatility, and performance.
