Practical and attainable advice! My new favorite design book!!
Great book! Iâve read a few design books and many repeat the same concepts you can find anywhere, arenât helpful or they can feel like a sales pitch or tribute to writer (like the writer is their own biggest fan), which I find off-putting. I felt Beauty by Design was well balanced in the writerâs story and with helpful advice that made it an enjoyable read. The advice is practical and attainable, which I appreciated so much! The writer Ginger is religious and there is a theme in the book around her experience with God. Iâm not a super religious person myself, so I was worried this would turn me off – but I think it was done well and overall enjoyed learning more about the the writer who I already follow on social media after loving some designs I saw on Houzz. There was one passage in the book that maybe made me as a non-religious person feel excluded (something to the affect of God wants you / you deserve to be happy), but I enjoyed every other part of the book and understood the intention of the passage to mean we all deserve to create beauty in our life, so it didnât bother me at all and I found I had the opposite reaction where I could appreciate where the writer comes from. Ginger and her team are talented designers and she seems to be a genuinely good person who is talented and enjoys what she does! This was truly one of the better design books Iâve read and I find myself drawn to the writer even more now that I understand her life and what motivates her.

I follow Ginger Curtis on social media. She is an amazing role model and mentor to all of us seeking beauty in the small things. When I found out that she was writing a book, I immediately got on the wait list to receive a copy, plus a few extras! She has always inspired me with her love of nature and incorporating that into her design. You will LOVE this book!!! It takes you through her amazing personal journey and teaches us as she shares her story. It’s as though Ginger takes your hand and lovingly walks you through the design process. Her joy and love of beauty is CONTAGIOUS! And her skilled explanation of every facet of a project is invaluable. It’s like a best friend guiding and encouraging you through each and every step. Her gentle nudges supported by amazing “what if” photos help to inspire and lead you on your home rediscovery. She touches on EVERY detail!!! What a gem!!!

Design Book with Soul
I was provided an early preview of Beauty by Design and couldn’t wait to immerse myself. Being drawn to Ginger’s talent some time ago on social media, I honestly had high expectations for her debut publication. She did not disappoint. Beauty by Design is an inspirational balance of design principles and a teaching concept often lacking in the design genre: a deservedness, not based on the indulgent or material, but based on your own unique story and the beauty you are equipped to reflect and share with those you value – including yourself.  This read is like locking arms with Ginger, embarking on a stroll through the events and life lessons that brought her to the present. Remarkably, however, she manages to focus the attention on you, the reader, in a personal way – lacing advice with intimate sincerity. She coaches and cajoles the reader to reflect on the dignity of representing yourself and your journey in your space.  Simply put, Beauty by Design has soul. It’s a life lesson. It’s an outline of principles. It’s a moment for yourself to represent all you cherish and find the motivation to design what is beautiful about you. Highly recommended.

Incredible Design Resource!
I first became aware of Ginger Curtis shortly after I purchased my new home. As I was scrolling through home design pictures in hopes of becoming inspired, an image of a stunning living room halted my search dead in its tracks. I recognized immediately âthat spaceâ which I wanted so much but just couldnât describe. So, I quickly went searching for more of her work. Gingerâs designs had everything I had envisioned for my new home; warmth, interest, beauty, and moreover, a sense of comfort that invites you in and encourages you to stay. I knew that this was exactly what I wanted my home to feel like. But I had no clue where to start, or any idea of how to achieve it! Gingerâs book, âBeauty by Design,â does just that. Along with gorgeous images of her various projects, she invites you along for the experience of creating a space that you will love â a space unique to you. It has everything you need to cultivate your vision to transform a blank slate into a place that will be loved and enjoyed for years to come. But this womanâs book, life, family, tragedies, design skill, passion for Christ, amazing journey & storytelling has ABSOLUTELY COMPELLED ME. There must be some sort of award for this kind of story magic. There are simply no words for how POWERFUL this little âdesign bookâ is. But I warn youâ¦this book isnât merely about functional, gorgeous & grass-roots-informational interior designâ¦this is a transformational telling of the human experience. Gingerâ¦BRAVO. Smaller than I thought
Though I looked at the description the book is in the smaller size but looks great with other âregularâ sized coffee table books.
